Online Course Design & Delivery
Teaching online can be an isolating experience, but you don’t have to do it alone. The Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) is available to support you as you design online and hybrid courses that support student learning. Please contact us if you would like to set up a one-on-one consultation or department-level workshop to address your online teaching needs.
In addition to consultations and departmental programming, we regularly offer workshops on challenges related to teaching online. If you were not able to make our recent online teaching workshops, you can check out our Online Course Design & Delivery workshop recordings. This seven-part workshop series covers topics ranging from best online course design practices and accessibility to instructional technologies that promote student engagement. You can also self-enroll in the associated Demo Canvas Course, which offers a chance to reflect on best practices related to online teaching. Together, these resources were designed to help you accomplish the following:
- Design and structure an online course using Canvas Modules to promote student belonging and ensure navigability, supporting effective student learning.
- Identify and apply key accessibility features and best practices, utilizing tools like Ally to review and enhance the accessibility of course content.
- Implement Canvas messaging features and peer-review opportunities to foster communication and collaboration among students.
- Reflect on and address challenges related to facilitating classroom activities online, utilizing digital spaces effectively to achieve desired learning outcomes.
Be on the lookout for upcoming events related to teaching online and let us know how we can help.
