As the Director of Writing Tutorial Services, Mary Helen oversees and mentors over forty undergraduate and graduate writing tutors as they assist students at all levels with writing and run graduate writing groups. She also consults with instructors about writing pedagogy and runs writing and teaching-related workshops for students and faculty. She has been an Assistant Director of Composition and a Teaching Fellow at IU, as well as teaching abroad at L-Università ta' Malta as a Fulbright Fellow. She holds dual B.A.s in English and History from Whittier College, an M.A. in English and a Ph.D. in English from Indiana University.
