Scholarly Teaching Week and Celebration of Teaching: October 5 to 9, 2026

The 2nd annual Scholarly Teaching Week will be held October 5-9, 2026. This week of evidence-based teaching discussions and programming culminates in a day-long Celebration of Teaching: a mini-conference showcasing scholarly teaching by full-time IUB instructional faculty. The goals of Scholarly Teaching Week are to:

  • Foster community among teaching-focused faculty members,
  • Showcase evidence-based teaching on campus,
  • Raise awareness of evidence-based strategies & SoTL literature,
  • Inspire participants to try something new in their own courses.

Call for Proposals

Submit your proposal

The proposal form asks:

  • Are you (and any co-proposers) on the faculty of Indiana University Bloomington?
  • Will you be able to attend the entire conference on October 9 (approximately 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on campus)? We will prioritize presenters who will stay for the whole event.

  • Session title
  • Please introduce your idea in no more than 250 words. This will be used as your session abstract.

  • How do you plan engage your participants during your session (e.g., structured opportunities to interact or reflect)?
  • Are you willing to collaborate with another proposer on your presentation if your ideas align?
  • Would you be willing to present your work in an alternative format?
  • Is there anything else you’d like the proposal reviewers to know?
