2013 Institute for Designing Online Courses (iDOC)

The Institute for Designing Online Courses (iDOC) is a summer program that guides participants through the process of designing an online course. Combining online and face-to-face classroom learning experiences, it provides the practical knowledge and support needed to create and teach an effective, appealing, and well-managed online course. The institute is offered at no charge to IU Bloomington faculty.

Participants will complete five online units, including a variety of online assignments. They also will meet face to face five times. During the face-to-face sessions, they will view examples of online courses and activities, explore course development and delivery tools, and work with consultants and other participants to refine their course designs.

Dates

The course site will open on May 1, 2013, and each participant will need to complete an online unit and submit related assignments before attending the first class on May 8th.
